Today Sony Ericsson announced its MBW-100 Bluetooth 2.0 watch which it has developed together with Fossil. The watch features analogue dials and a small OLED screen. With the MBW-100 you can accept incoming calls and control the MP3 playback features of your Sony Ericsson Bluetooth-equipped mobile phone



The MBW-100 features caller display and you can reject calls by pressing a button on the side of the watch. It will also alert you if you’ve left your phone behind and notify you when you have received a new **** message.

Sony Ericsson supplies a charging clip and a charger with the MBW-100 and it comes packaged in an exclusive box. The MBW-100 is made out of stainless steel and will be available in silver as well as a limited edition black version. According to the press release it’ll weigh 187.5 grams which seems very heavy for a watch and nearly 50 per cent more than most mobile phones.

The MBW-100 is expected to be available in Q4 and has a SRP of €300 or roughly £203.

Further to this announcement Fossil will be brining out its own range of Bluetooth-enabled watches in the Abacus MobileWear and Fossil Caller ID ranges. No further information was available on these devices at the time of writing. Please note that this is a new Abacus watch and it has nothing to do with the failed Wrist PDA from Fossil with the same name

Sony Ericsson makes listening to music and taking calls a quality experience with the launch of the Stereo Bluetooth Headset HBH-DS980.

This stylish accessory delivers wireless music and calls with superior sound performance, even in noisy environments.



This is achieved through advances in design, ergonomics and audio:

* Digital noise cancellation/echo reduction to reduce background noise
* Bluetooth 2.0 to deliver better quality voice calls
* A2DP (Advanced Audio Distribution Profile) for high quality sound when listening to music
* A hidden OLED display delivers a seamless design effect, much brighter than a conventional LCD display.






Given a talk time or music playback time of up to 6 hours, the HBH-DS980 has to be designed with comfort in mind. The soft silicon ear buds on the stereo headset are provided in three sizes, so as to ensure an optimum fit with the size and shape of the wearer’s ear. Separate to the headset, the overall unit weighs in at just 27 grams, so won’t be a burden when worn around the neck.



A personal communications device which lets you be free and fun. It is light, simple and carefree. You can change its form according to your needs during the day. You dont have to carry it in your pocket or on your wrist. You can carry it anywhere, in anyform. You can roll it, bend it, put on your clothes like a clip. It also makes some form changes that makes it more ergonomical: i.e. when you want to talk on the phone, the body form turns into the form of the good old telephone. You can personalize these forms and record them. So it fits you the best in the way that you have chosen. Also e-motions let you send forms to other 888 users: i.e. you can send a heart shape to your loved one or a dancing figure to your friends to call them to the party tonight. This way you can talk without words.”
